Uma Majumdar
Born in the year 1980, I graduated in arts from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar college, Tripura University. As I had a sincere inclination for the various streams of fine arts, I continued pursuing Painting and Sculpture along with my regular studies throughout my schooling. After my graduation, I left the college and decided to devote full time to painting and sculpting, which I am still doing .
During the last two decades, I have participated in a number of group shows all over India and have also attended numerous artists camps and workshops. I have to my credit a large number of sculptures and installations in public places in the cities like Agartala, Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, Kailashahar, Kanchanbari to name a few.
Painting is my passion and I am constantly working to evolve my own identity through painting. To enrich my understanding of art, I am also studying the history of art and works of master painters of India and abroad with utmost seriousness.
There is a connection between all creations. We are all connected in a way. Creation blocks the way of destruction.
