I was encouraged by my parents to do a postal art diploma course while in school. I wanted to do an art degree but instead ended up as a software engineering graduate. I have worked in the software industry for many years and my art was restricted to the occasional Pictionary game. After becoming an empty-nester, I re-discovered my passion for sketching and children’s illustrated books. I started attending weekend sketch meetups of Penciljammers. I heard about Riyaaz academy and realized that was the best place to explore a career in illustration. For the last 5 years, I have been pursuing Dhrupad and sing with a Bangalore based group called Sunaad. My other interests include swimming, cycling and Taichi.
